About Me

After three decades of putting words to paper (and pixels), I’ve written across every medium and moment—whatever the message calls for. Fundraising campaigns that inspire action? Absolutely. Technical guides and SOPs that actually make sense? Done. Social media that gets shelter pets adopted and wildlife stories that move donors to give? That’s my sweet spot.

Where I Focus Now

For the past 20 years, I’ve poured my energy into animal welfare and conservation work, as well as supporting a variety of nonprofits. I help organizations refine policies, writing donor communications that fund lifesaving work and telling stories that connect people to the wild places and creatures that still need our protection.

At Southwest Wildlife Conservation Center, I recently led fundraising and marketing strategy that reached 12,000 supporters and generated six-figure donations. Before that, I spent nearly two decades at Best Friends Animal Society, leading multi-channel communications for 15+ teams and boosting partner engagement by 40%.
What I Bring to the Table

With a master’s in Nonprofit Management and Contemporary Animal Services Leadership and a B.A. in English from the University of Iowa, I translate complex animal welfare, veterinary, and conservation topics into plain-language stories that inspire action. My background in medical and technical writing means everything I produce is accurate, readable, and strategically aligned — whether it’s a research brief, a magazine feature, or a crisis communication plan.

My Approach

I believe storytelling should do more than inform; it should connect. Whether I’m interviewing a field biologist tracking mountain lions, a volunteer bottle-feeding orphaned kittens, or a donor who just gave their first $10, I look for the thread of humanity that makes every story worth telling.
